Welcome to the PYP Programs page!
Currently, our Programs council is responsible for managing three initiatives:
The Ambassadors Program: Our newest program is designed to help showcase Pensacola for young professionals who are new to the area. Our PYP Ambassadors warmly welcome young professionals who have recently moved to the Pensacola Bay Area. The Ambassadors help the new residents learn more about PYP and Pensacola, facilitate their efforts to network and make new friends, and show them that our city is a great place to live, work, and play. The Internship Pensacola Program: PYP’s first program, IP was founded in 2006 with the intention of stemming the exodus of young talent from our area. To achieve that goal, IP works with great local companies to offer summer internships to regional college students, helping them gain essential work experience and plugging them in to the Pensacola Bay Area’s job market. In addition to the internships, IP enrolls its students in a Professional Development Seminar taught by UWF faculty. Furthermore, during their summer session, the interns are invited to participate in numerous PYP-led social and networking events, in order to help better link these soon-to-graduate students with their fellow young professionals. The Pensacola Professional Development Institute: The goal of PPDI is to assist our area citizens in bettering themselves professionally by promoting the acquisition of leadership and management skills. PPDI sponsors several professional development events here in the Pensacola Bay Area, including the Chick-fil-A Leadercast and our newly-created Emerging Professionals workshops (designed to teach essential professional skills to college and vocational students).
