May 15	Play Ball! The PYPs will be put together a co-ed, recreational softball team for the spring. The tentative start date is June 25, 2009. Games will be played at Exchange Park (3200 E. Lakeview) on Thursdays over the course of an expected 8-week season. Ten players (4 or more women) play the field at a time. To maximize play-time, we request that only players that can make a commitment for the season to be at each game and needed practice seek to be on the team and therefore we will limit the team accordingly. If you wish to be on the team, please email Benjamin Stevenson with the following information: (1) name, (2) telephone contact information, (3) whether you live inside or outside the city limits of Pensacola (this is not determined by your mailing city, but by the utilities you pay--does the city pick-up your garbage?), and (4) whether you currently have a PYP T-shirt, and if so, what is the number, shirt size and requested shirt number. Apr 15	Meet and Greet The Pensacola Young Professionals are hosting a Government Meet & Greet on April 29, at 5:15 pm at Seville Quarter. Government officials from Escambia County and the City of Pensacola are invited to meet members of PYP and discuss issues of interest to young professionals in the area. Read the press release.
Apr 5	PYP Quarterly Luncheon PYP's next quarterly luncheon is April 30th, 11:15 - 12:45 at the Pensacola Yacht Club. The guest speaker will be Lois Benson discussing an update on curbside recycling and the relocation of the Main Street water treatment facility. Mar 1	PYP Annual Meeting Join the Pensacola Young Professionals at our 3rd Annual Meeting, Saturday, March 21st at the Pensacola Yacht Club. This year's guest speaker is Dr. Joe Story. Cocktails at 5 pm; dinner at 6 pm. Tickets are $30. Reservations are limited - RSVP by March 7th. Cocktail attire. Cash bar.
Feb 11	PYP Pub Club The Pensacola Young Professional’s will host its next Pub Club at the Fish House Deck Feb. 12, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Meet fellow PYP members for a casual night of networking and fun.
Feb 5	Board of Directors Candidates The PYP Board of Directors is seeking candidates for nominations to serve on the 2009-2010 Board of Directors. Open board positions include Secretary, Economic, Quality of Life, Membership, Marketing/PR, and Fundraising. Among the criteria that will be considered are the following: · leadership and management experience, ·written responses to questions posed in the application, ·other considerations that indicate that a candidate is uniquely qualified to serve on the Board of Directors. If you know of an individual who would meet the criteria above and who might be willing to serve PYP, please forward the application and encourage that person to complete the form and return it to PYP. Or, send the name(s) of your potential candidate(s) to either of the selection committee co-chairmen James Hosman or Ryan Hatler. Self-nominations are welcomed. If you are interested in serving on the Board, please complete and return the nomination form. All applications must be received no later than 5:00 p.m., Friday, February 13, 2009. If you are interested on serving on the selection committee, contact James or Ryan by February 9th at 12:00 pm.
Feb 4	Internship Pensacola Seeks Student Applications Internship Pensacola is currently seeking student applicants for our program's Summer 2009 session. The IP program, which offers paid, full-time summer internships, is looking for college seniors and graduate students who are preparing to step out into the job market. Read the press release.
Jan 30	PYP Launches New Membership Meetings Starting January 30 It’s a new year and your PYP is taking a new approach to general membership meetings.
