Internship Pensacola
Get Involved with Internship Pensacola!
The Internship Pensacola program is a joint effort by the Pensacola Young Professionals, the Pensacola Bay Area Chamber of Commerce, and the University of West Florida. The primary objective of this program is to retain young talent within our community, so that our city's business and social environments can grow and thrive.
Internship Pensacola is designed to provide local college students with valuable internship opportunities during their summer semester. Throughout the 12-week program, students will work with their choice of various local businesses, thereby gaining greater knowledge and experience within their field of study while also earning college credit hours and a full-time salary. In addition, students will engage in several social/networking events designed to show them that Pensacola is an excellent place to live, work, and play after college graduation.
The program is comprised of the following four teams:
Marketing – This team will be responsible for creating awareness of the program through on-campus events, releasing information to the media, and attending or creating program visibility at any community or chamber event.
Administrative – This team will work closely with students and employers facilitating the process from application to acceptance of a position by each student.
Professional Development – This team will assist UWF in facilitating the professional development course. The role will be to help plan activities which reflect the mission of the course and recruit community leaders and entrepreneurs to periodically speak to the class.
Event Coordination – This team will be responsible for program events and coordinating social/networking opportunities the class can attend as a group.
We need a few PYP members to volunteer and support our class through each of these teams. Please contact Leslie Cagle at or 850.470.8464 ext. 31 to volunteer.
